Version Changes(ex: 2.24.02) jumps to a section below with all the changes in that version. Note: Installing bug fix versions released following a Major Version is FREE IF you can install the Major Version.
at the left downloads that Keyrite version installation file.
Save the file on your computer hard drive.
Find the file and double click it to run it.
Release Date shows when each Version was physically available.
The Install Date for the version you are trying to install is compared to your Upgrade Expire Date from your Account:
If the Install Date is EARLIER it will install normally.
If the Install Date is LATER, your browser will display an instruction page to allow you to order an upgrade. As soon as your credit card is approved (usually a few seconds), it will install normally. Your Upgrade Expire Date is extended by 12 months to allow installing future releases within that period.
Windows Versions shows what Windows version that version will run under.
User Move - Follow these instructions to remove the installed version so you can install it on another computer (or before upgrading your computer) without needing MTU to free up your RegCode.
If your Registration Code will install the latest version(see above), order this to ship the latest versions of ALL MTU Software on CDROM (you can also instantly download via the Internet).

NEW - Shortcuts added to Menu - We added the following shortcuts in the Menu Bar at the top of Keyrite:
File > Open

Help > Ask the MTU Community
Help > Visit Us on Facebook
Changed - Moved the Preview File button - We moved it up next to the open file name to make it more obvious which file will be played.
NEW - Windows 8 - Full support for Windows 8.
NEW - Easier Installation - Our installation process has been made easier for the customer.
Version 2.22 Released July 27, 2011
FIXED - Locks Up When Export BIN Files - Now when you open a .bin file, key change it and Save Output File, instead of locking up, it now saves the .bin file with the key changed audio and the lyrics in sync.
Keyrite V2.21 Released June 7, 2011
UPGRADED - Key Change Code - We replaced the key change core code. The key change should be a higher quality than prior versions.
UPGRADED - Compiled For Newest Windows - We upgraded our Software Development Tools to compile for latest .NET, DirectX, Windows Media Player on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. This should improve performance and stability.
CHANGED - Key Change Does Not Trigger Preview Play - You can now change the Key buttons without triggering play, yet still change them on the fly while playing.
FIXED - Buffer Not Being Cleared At End - In version 2.20 when you stop play before the end of the file, there was an audio chunk that was retained and would sound for about one-tenth a second at the start of the next play operation.
FIXED - Location Slider and Numerical Value Field Broken - In version 2.20 if you played from the start, the slider stops at the right edge, but audio plays for about a second more. We adjusted the slider so it hits the right edge at the audio end. The numerical value shown at the right of the location slider should now show 00:00/00:08 for an 8 second file, and play ends at that point.
FIXED - Registration Problem - Version 2.20 prevents upgrading the existing version using the UPGRADE option. Version 2.21 fixes it so anyone can upgrade from 2.21 on. Our web master has also fixed it so 2.20 users CAN upgrade to 2.21.
Keyrite V2.20 Released August 30, 2010
NEW - Runs on Windows 7 - This version runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7, Vista and XP.
NEW - Automatic Check for Updates - When Keyrite first runs and the computer is on-line, it automatically checks to see if 7 days have passed since the last access to the MTU web site. If under 7 days, it won't check now. If more than 7 days, it checks for a new release. This does not delay the program running. The message box that appears has a "Hide this message for version NNN" checkbox where NNN is the new version number. If clicked, the message for the version being reported does not appear again. When a new version is released later than this one, the message appears with text explaining this new version's features. Three messages can appear.
CHANGED - Help Menu Check for Updates - Clicking this with the computer on-line immediately checks to see if a new version is released. A progress meter shows the steps advancing to the final message.
CHANGED Keyrite Demo - A pop up message now appears every time the demo runs. It lists the hampering performed in the demo, which includes:
Random beeps are added into the processed audio stream at random times. This shows how easy Keyrite is to use, and its quality.
Only plays/saves the first 75 seconds of a song, with the random beeps.
Keyrite V2.11 Released January 14, 2009
FIXED BIN Files Not Finishing - When processing BIN files, they would key change up to the very end and then hang, whether playing or saving to the hard drive. This is fixed.
Upgraded Installation Program - We added a checkbox in one of the install panels that allows you to easily remove all Registry Keys for Keyrite. This is rarely needed, but sometimes Windows Registry Keys can get messed up. This is much easier to use for everyone, instead of the RegEdit function that is for technology knowledgeable users.
Fixed Location Counter - The counter was off one-second for every 30 seconds of file processing. This has been fixed.
Keyrite V2.10 Released August 25, 2008
NEW Key Change Code - The new code we wrote for Hoster 4.00 is now in Keyrite 2.10.
NEW Open New Karaoke Formats - Now opens and key changes Karaoke; BIN, KMA, MP3+G, and ZIP format files. MP3+G and ZIP files require the Lame_enc.dll be installed to write them back out as MP3 files.
NEW Audio Formats - Now opens and key changes Audio MP3, WMA and WAV files. The Location slider moves while MP3 or WMA audio files are converted before opening. The Output file format is the same as the opened file format, except with some KMA files (see below). MP3 files require the Lame_enc.dll be installed to write them back out as MP3 files.
NEW Uses MP3 Lame_enc.dll If Present - If you have installed the MP3 Lame_enc.dll file in your C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder (XP & Vista), or C:\WINNT\system32 folder (2000), then you can Save MP3, MP3+G, and ZIP files with MP3+G files. Otherwise, they will save as WAV audio or BIN karaoke files.
New Key Changes All KMA Files - All KMA files can now be opened and key changed. All KMAs, no matter which format (HDZIP, HDMP3G, HDCDG, CDCDG, HDBIN) are written back as CDCDG format.
New Menu Bar - The function buttons that were at the bottom of the screen are now available as menu commands. Some new commands were also added.
New Installation Program Now Allows Removing And Installing On New Computer - This new feature allows you to remove Keyrite from a working computer and installing it on a new computer. When removing, you MUST use the Keyrite 2.10 Installation program, not Windows Add/Remove Programs, and the computer must be ON-LINE to the Internet. The act of removal is documented in the MTU.com web site registration database for your Registration Code. This frees it up to be installed on another computer. It also requires entering a "CPU Name" for this computer if no MTU software has been installed before. This allows you to identify which computer you need help, and we can instantly know which one it is.
New View Registration Code Command - This new dialog shows the CPU Name: field, identifying this computer when you need help from MTU.
New Output Level Adjust and Meter - If the song is not loud enough, click and drag the Output Lever slider up (or down if too loud) to change the amplitude. The Green-Yellow-Red meter shows the audio level while playing and also while saving the output file.
UPGRADED Opened Folder Is Persistent - Whenever you open a file in a new folder, that becomes the default folder presented the next time, even if the file had an error and cannot open.
UPGRADED Location Slider Moves When Playing Saved Output File - In prior versions, the slider did not move when playing the created file.
UPGRADED Screen Appearance - We added a "Starburst" background and other eye-candy.
UPGRADED New Manual - The manual has been rewritten as a step-by-step tutorial so everyone can use this product.
UPGRADED Play Buttons Turn Red - While playing, the Preview Play and Play File buttons turn red to show they are active. The titles change to Stop Playing.
REMOVED Approval Messages - In 2.0, a message appeared whenever you were playing and clicked any control. This is gone and the clicked button is executed. When you click the Save Output File button it is now automatically created, and a message appears only when you would overwrite an existing filename.
REMOVED Discontinued MTU .CDG File Support - Version 2.10 does not expect a .CDG file to contain audio, only the graphic/lyric data. If you have older MTU .CDG files, rename the CDG to BIN and they will now work in all MTU programs.

REMOVED Pop-Up at the Start - This duplicated the About... dialog box and is now gone.
Stop Preview Error Message - An error message no longer appears when you click the Stop Preview button.
UPGRADED Installation Program - The install program now allows reinstalling the same version on the same computer by REPAIR. Installing a new version requires Internet registration by the computer being on-line or using a Memory Stick or Floppy Disc and registering from a different computer that is Internet connected. Any errors that occur during installation are displayed to insure a smooth install.
Security Upgrade - The security protection method is more forgiving of computer upgrades.
Keyrite Pro V2.008 Released December 04, 2003
Key Change Algorithm Upgraded - The basic way we detect the key and adjust the pitch with the key change buttons has been fundamentally changed. The resulting sound should now be free of distorting artifacts such as quivering, vibrato, echoes, rubber banding, etc. that were reported by some professional users with prior versions.
Select Output File button - We changed the Save as Type: list box to only show the open file type. This forces the output file type (.cdg or .wav) to be the same as the Input File type. Some users thought Keyrite could create a .cdg karaoke file from a .wav file.
Default to CDG File Type - When Keyrite runs, it will start off using .cdg files to make it easier for our Karaoke users.
Added Reg Code button - This command in the Help menu allows you to see the Registration Code that Keyrite was installed with on this computer.
Manual Now is HTML - The manual was converted from Adobe Acrobat PDF format to standard Internet HTML format, read by your standard Internet Browser program.

Keyrite 1.400 Discontinued - We discontinued the Keyrite Home version and lowered the price of Keyrite Pro for consumers.
Keyrite Home 1.400 Released December 15, 2003, Discontinued
Select Output File button - We changed the Save as Type: list box to only show the open file type. This forces the output file type (.cdg or .wav) to be the same as the Input File type. Some users thought Keyrite would create a .cdg karaoke file from a .wav file.
Default to CDG File Type - When Keyrite runs, it will start off using .cdg files to make it easier for our Karaoke users.
Added Reg Code button - This command in the Help menu allows you to see the Registration Code that Keyrite was installed with on this computer.
Manual Now is HTML - The manual is now in standard Internet HTML format so you can open and view it in your Internet Browser program.

Keyrite V1.300
Released 12/06/02
Force Filename Extension - When you manually enter a filename for the Output file, if you don't add the .wav or .cdg name extension, Keyrite automatically adds the extension the same extension as the selected the Input file extension. If you enter the extension, it will use your entry. If you select an existing file on the hard drive, its extension is used.
Keyrite V1.202
Released 08/28/01
Obsolete by V1.300
New Read Manual Button - The Keyrite manual is now downloaded in the Install program. This new button on the front panel instantly displays the manual in Adobe Acrobat Reader format with links to each topic for easy navigation. The manual has more details about opening the Input and Output files.
Improved the Select Input File Operation - The input filename field is now grayed out so you must click the Select Input File button to open a file. This prevents entering a filename that does not exist on the hard drive. Some users were confused by this extra flexibility.
Select Output File Button and Output Filename Field Operation - This new button separates the function of opening or creating a file from the function of writing the file. When clicked, it displays an Open File dialog box to select a filename on any drive or folder. It also allows entering a new filename to create a new file. The Output Filename field allows entering a filename without clicking the Select Output File button.
New Write File Button - Click this button to write the key changed audio to the selected output filename. In V1.108 this operation was automatic when you clicked the Open button in the Output File dialog box. This made it confusing if you wanted to store to a new file instead of overwriting an existing file.
Improved the Preview Play Button - The operation of this button has been improved. Clicking any other button now displays a message to "Please stop play first." This improves the user interface and now prevents some errors that were seen in V1.108.
Minimize and Maximize Icons - These standard Icons were added in the upper right corner of the window to provide these functions. When Minimized, the program is still operational, but no longer visible.
KeyRite Changed to Keyrite - The capitalization of the name has been changed.
Bug Fixed - After clicking the Write File button and the process had finished, clicking the Input File button (or others) would display the message Please Stop Play First!. This has been fixed.
Bug Fixed - In prior versions it was possible to open the Input Filename in the Output Filename field and overwrite the file. This would make the file unusable. Now, if the same filename is opened in both fields, when the Write File is clicked it verifies that the Output is not the same as the Input, preventing overwriting the input file.

ADDED "0" KEY CHANGE BUTTON - When selected, this plays the original .wav or .cdg Input File without any processing.
WARBLING DISTORTION IN CDG PROCESSING - A bug was fixed in the CDG processing section. This caused a warbling distortion reported by some users. It may have also added distortion to the vocals when processing a .cdg file.
MAKE FILES OF TYPE PERSISTENT - When you select the type of file (.wav or .cdg) for the Input File, it will now remain that selection for the current session and when keyrite is shut down and run again.
MAKE DEFAULT FOLDER PERSISTENT - When you select the path (drive/directory) for the Input File, it will now remain that selection for the current session and when keyrite is shut down and run again.
DEFAULT OUTPUT FILE TYPE TO INPUT FILE TYPE - When you select the Input File Type, the Output File type is set to the same selection. Users can change it if desired before creating the Output File.
HANDLE MISSING AUDIO CARD - If the computer does not have an audio card, keyrite will warn you but still run. You will not be able to hear any test audio, but you can still create key changed output files.
